BFC Meeting Reminder
by Elizabeth Spaulding on

Happy New Year, Everyone!

The next Boise Forest Coalition meeting is  scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  at the Idaho Fish and Game Trophy Room. Due to the likely event that Forest Service staff will be unable to attend the meeting due to the government shutdown, this meeting will be short. We will use our time to provide updates on BFC business, discuss 2019 goals and priorities, and provide an overview of upcoming forest management initiatives that will be relevant to collaboratives throughout Idaho.

The meeting agenda will soon be available in the meeting notes library for your review.

Thank you!

French Hazard Project Decision
by boiseforestcoalition on

On October 15th, Tawnya Brummett signed the decision for the French Hazard WUI project and it is now ready for implementation. I would like to thank the Boise Forest Coalition for their input through the process and I believe that it led us to a final project design that will improve fire risk and stand conditions while minimizing the impacts from the activities to the resources in the area.

This project will improve forest health while also creating jobs and wood products for the region. While we didn’t all come to perfect agreement on the particulars of this project, I believe that we struck a good balance and I greatly appreciate the candid discussion from the group while we worked through the process. Thanks again for all your effort and attention to this project and I look forward to continuing work with the BFC on future projects.
